what sort of reactions have you gotten when talking to other jw when telling them the "truth about the truth"?
by AmIright inits funny ive read some stories on here about how they have become so infuriated by what logic dictates as being true and their own denying of it because it completely screws up their belief and shows how hypocritical it is xd some look like a nuclear reactor about to blow xd.
share you experiences here :) .

Anger and astonishment at the things I was saying. Squirming around scriptures that they were not that familiar with such as Rev 19:1 I saw a great crowd in heaven! My sister after discussing this for a while asked me quite blankly "do you want to go to heaven"? I was just trying to prove that the bible says the great crowd are in heaven not on earth. Also a lot of blank stares after asking about Noah's Ark, how did the animals get from the ark to the different countries they are now in? Eventually crying and running out of the room (from them) and of course lots of "you sound like an apostate"! We don't talk about it anymore. -

Hope you have a great day Awake Watcher.
I have noticed in recent years people giving cards and presents for baptisms, which is something that never happened years ago. They all go out for a celebration baptism meal too. I remember my mum was asked why she never got a card for her grandson when he got baptised. She said they had never done that and she didn't think it right to make a big celebration out of it, it was between him and Jehovah.

Things I Never Knew When I Was A Witness!
by disillusioned 2 inthere are some things that as a witness i never knew.
maybe i was just going through the motions, attending meetings and not listening much.
never was very good at personal study or underlining answers in watchtower or book study (i never ever answered up) was too shy.. i never knew when i was a witness that they taught that jesus had looked down on the earth in 1919 to see who was serving god most accurately, and of course he chose a small group of bible students living in america!

I never knew when I was a witness that they taught that Jesus had looked down on the earth in 1919 to see who was serving god most accurately, and of course he chose a small group of bible students living in America! How did they know that he chose them, did he send a letter down from heaven or maybe a dove!
I never knew that they once banned vaccinations, or that they banned transplants saying it was cannibalism!
I never knew that Rutherford had a house built for the prophets to live in when they were resurrected (in America) but in the meantime he lived in the house!
There are so many things I never knew when I was a witness and I don't think many witnesses know these things.
Is there anything any of you didn't know when you were a witness or before you started to wake up?

Out on Facebook
by disillusioned 2 ini am just venting because my sister has put on facebook that i am no longer "in the truth"!
i have kept a very low profile for years and have silently faded.
many witnesses i have bumped into are very friendly towards me, some from other congregations may not even be aware that i dont go anymore.

Thanks everyone for support and tips. This sister of mine is a bit blunt and says things without thinking and she upsets a lot of people because of this. The last time I went to the memorial which was about four years ago, she asked me why I was there! Not "how lovely to see you here" I just said because my husband wanted me to. I havn't been back since.
Sometimes I think it would have been easier to go now and then but I couldn't take the pressure to go on ministry.
Good luck to anyone else who is fading.

Many witnesses I have bumped into are very friendly towards me, some from other congregations may not even be aware that I dont go anymore. Now my sister has done this and I am mad at her. I want to pull her up and refute, especially that I dont believe it to be 'the truth' anymore and give her all the reasons why I believe this but I can't because it will just make things worse.
I just made the comment for her to stop talking about me on facebook and she hasn't yet replied to this.

Hi Christian and Katya. I am so glad that you both woke up together. It is so much harder when only one wakes up and the other wont listen to reason. I have watched some of your youtube videos and you are a lovely couple and it is awful that you are being shunned. Sending you both love and wishing you a very happy life. -

To those who attended, attendance up or down at your memorial?
by Crazyguy ininteresting to see if there's a noticeable trend in memorial attendance.

Heard my husband tell my mum (I would'nt ask) there was 172 at memorial, early one. I have no idea whether this was up or down on last year but he said it like he was boasting that they had so many! My mum said they had 129 and "we only have a small hall" she said. Both congregations in Merseyside, Liverpool, UK. -

"What exciting times we live in, we must be so close to the end".
This is what the witnesses say everytime something like this happens. How they can consider people being killed as exciting is beyond me. But then again God is going to destroy billions at Armageddon and they are eagerly waiting for that to happen!
I can't believe I once believed the same way.

2016 Memorial Done & Dusted
by steve2 inwell on this side of the planet, the southern hemisphere/ new zealand, the 2016 memorial service in local kingdom halls will be over for another year.
another great big anticlimax.
some family and relatives will have gone - but unless i ask my sister, i generally have no idea about attendance and partaker numbers.

Well I will not be going so unable to be of any help. I hate the lead up to this every year, I get bombarded by my husband. He has left leaflets lying around which went in re-cycling immediately. And just put a lot of pressure on me to go. He said half an hour ago on his way out to invite strangers to it. Did your mum invite you to memorial? I said no. Can I invite you then? You already did, I said. Can I invite you again? You can, but the answer is no I'm not going! Big sigh from him! Well as you say, it will soon be all over for another year.

Why dont you go to the memorial?
by atomant inl guess we all have our own reasons and thought it would give insight to others considering going to reconsider and not go.

I dont want to be added to their numbers for their purpose of boasting about how many attended. I dont believe they are right anymore and they dont do what Jesus commanded them to do regarding partaking of the bread and wine. I also dont want to give my family any ideas that I may return because I attended. I find them all very false and even patronising. I hate that they encorage anyone and everyone to go just to bump the numbers up. My invite from my husband went straight into the recycling bag.
